This cold weather is getting ridiculous

Post by madman4570 »

Pull up at Sunoco gas station last night for a fill up.
Said to the gas station attendant "its a little brisk tonight"
Just then pisssssssssss.Meaning a loud air noise.
Valve stem a singing. Fiddle with it, nope. Cap is split tire getting flat quick.
Hurry up and move SUV to air pump machine insert 5 quarters run over to stick nozzle on stem and stem simply breaks in half and then the kid says air machine busted to cold. My doughnut tire about flat s/b at 60 psi. Minus 10 degrees all ice on parking lot?
Tell kid ya got good security here? Yes.
Park it, lock it,call wife, grab doughnut spare
to air up at home and leave.

Well, at least you still have power I presume. The power here on my street just went out 20 minutes ago. Thankfully I have an emergency power inverter (the type you use to jump start a car) and I am able to use that to keep my internet router going since the internet connections from ATT are still up and running.

If the power isn't back on by evening it will be time to break out the camping gear for light and a cook stove. Thank goodness I have all this stuff. -Tutt

I recall reading that it takes about 48 hours of -40 or 4 days of -30 to really eliminate them. Pray for it.

Yes -- when i let my little dog out in the morning, i normally have to go after her to get her to come in after her "morning constitutional" --- this morning, she was howling and scratching at the back door after 3 minutes

Not cold here by a northerner's definition, - but too cold for an Okie nonetheless

 Absolutely

Going to pickup the Escape at Tire shop. Only $20
Guy at the shop said they have been seeing quite a few that have ice ruining the stems because of extreme cold?
Not just the valve but the whole stem breaking. They said if cap has a crack,or stem missing cap this year, bad stuff!

Canadian point of view on global warming. What is taking so long!

-30C/-22F at our office this morning. Should move up to seasonal today or tomorrow.

I'm not sure about that Pine Beetle info. We get that kind of cold and we still got the beetles!!! It does keep a bunch of nasty bugs away though. It also tends to move the hard core druggies to Vancouver or much further south in the winter.

When it's cold and snowy it's my favorite time of the year! I love it!!! :D :D :D

After snow plowing with my lab "Daily" riding shotgun and snow machining through the woods in the fresh snow with Daily chasing behind, it's time to for both of us to relax and sunbathe in Feb! :D :D :D

Frezzing rain here. But, then again, it's February! Agent asked where I'd like to go this week... I said Key West... she laughed and said, "...yep, you and about ¾ of the truck drivers in the US!" I guess that was a no...

I took our idiot puppy out last night . Had her on a leash and all that thing wanted to do was run around in the snow and try to eat a fair amount of it !

She's about 6 months old what can I say !

I am sure in a couple years she'll get past all that and act more like your dog (I hope) !
