I was out on my own ,the snow was too deep for dogs,it was almost too deep for me in places.
Re: Blackpowder bunnies
How do you cook them things? I shot one up in Montana a few years ago and we smoked it. Worse textured and tasting thing I have ever smoked. The pheasant we smoked at the same time was great. Won't be shooting anymore unless I hear of a good recipe

Re: Blackpowder bunnies
I normally cook them up in a stew or a nice rabbit pie, the load I was using was an ounce of shot #6 with an 80 gr charge.
Re: Blackpowder bunnies
Well done!
Bunnies have always been fun hunting for me, I haven't done it much in years. I thinned out the flock in the yard a couple years ago though. 4 shots, 3 bunnies, one handed. First shot I forgot how high the gun shot. It had been loaded for a year or so, it fired just fine.
