Canik 55 TP-9 9mm Semi Auto Pistol

Post by wm »

Anyone with first hand experience with one of these? Lots of positive reviews by bloggers but I don't know which of those are trustworthy. Some of those guys have never met a T&E gun they didn't like

Wow. Interesting, finally a pistol I had to do a google search on since I hadn't heard of it.

So saying, I've no personal esperience. But it's a Turk gun and they've done some darn fine and highly underrated work in the firearms biz.

If you can get it cheap, I'd snatch it up. Be a good truck/cabin/camp/cache gun.

They're decently made. A guy I know picked one up and I ran about 200 through it.

It's not a Glock or a Sig, but would do well for a spare home defense gun, plinker, truck gun etc.

Huh? I thought it looks like a Walther 99 or Springfield Armory XDS. And quality wise it meets ISO 9000 testing standards.

I just worry about parts availability. Of course I hesitated when I had a chance to buy a HS 2000 out of Croatia even though I thought it was a better pistol then Glock Gen 1. But 2 years later Springfield Armory took the HS2000 and reintroduced it as the XD.......at twice the price.

Canik is offering the Stingray which is a CZ-75 inspired gun and I've always liked that design. It might be time for me to move into the polymer/hi cap community. There was a long time I never thought that day would come

So, you going to buy it? Pictures, please.

And for previous posters, it's a close copy of the Walther P99

I think next month....lots of irons in the fire right now.....I'll get either the the cz-75 esque pistol or the p-99 esque pistol from Canick. Everything I read about the p99 esque pistol is positive and the 18 round capacity and the extra equipment in the kit that comes with it makes it a more likely purchase but I do love the CZ-75 design.

But yeah, I think the TP9 is the way I will go........and I will furnish a full report upon arrival, through break in, and then where it goes from there.

Thanks for the review.......I'm still not sure if the Canik TP9 is for me or not......I keep thinking one of the CZ-75 copies might be better.

Or if I am real carful with my pennies maybe I'll get both. {Insert evil grin here}

I have a Walther P99, and I love it. The only part I had any trouble with was learning to not fire a double tap without intent. The short, and I do mean short, reset movement of the trigger lends itself to accidentally firing a second shot. I just spent some time with the gun and that problem cleared itself up.

Also look for web reviews under the title of Tristar T100, the same gun under a different title. The vast majority of reviews seem to be positive.
