Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a wonderful way to grow up.

I'm sorry, but holy sh*t. That was one of the best true-life experiences concerning Alaska i've read in a while.

Now this stuff is suppose to be of what we currently own and not run out and buy, right? Well the shotgun would have to be my dad`s old remington 31 pump 12 gauge, also my dads old octogon barrel winchester model 61 .22 lr, I have to think if the centerfire rifle would be my winchester 70 300 H&H mag or again, dads old remington 30-06 760 pump. The 22 revolver would be a model 53 s&w 22 jet that I can also shoot 22 lr in. The s&w model 29-2 I have in the rare 5" barrel .44 mag.
The first thing I would do is get my Citabria GCBC fitted up with ski`s and floats, get my sea plane rating and we would be in business! You definitely need a plane up there! Also would have to find a way to get my RZR and wife up there. Somebody's got to take care of me!

Sorry for the double post on the pictures. Cant seem to edit it out either? One was suppose to be of our RZR, and the small one of a video of the plane flying. Edit: Figured it out.

Years ago I owned a very odd, rare seldom seen rifle/shotgun called a "Stag built". It was a over/under 30/30 and 20 gauge. Had a lever to break it open and at a fast glance it looked a lot like a winchester 94. It was hammerless. That would be the ticket up there. Here too. Anyone ever even seen one? I traded a old 49 ford panel truck for it! Should have kept both!

Bring spare headlamps, everybody wears them. You'll be on TV of course and you'll want to stand out so dress well, everybody else wears a mishmash of hoodies, sweats and assorted unidentifiable rags that they've obviously been sleeping in all winter. Good Luck and Good Mushing.
