Another cat day(photo added)

Post by hondo1892 »

Well this post is sorta on topic. I did dispatch it with my trusty Marlin Mountie. The marlin is almost as old as me and in rougher shape when I first got it. Had to make a new but stock, slimmed the forearm and remove some surface rust. Shoots great though and is my jeep/truck rifle now. Heres the putty tat I got this morning. This one was smaller than my last but has more spots on him. Guys my photo won't load for some reason. I resized it but the site keeps telling me it's over 1000 pixels.

I'll try to repost a photo later. Maybe photobucket is not working right.

Hondo I would love to have a Cat to rug. I hear they bring good money also if you want to sell them.
What load did you use and how quick did he meet his demise if I may be so bold to ask? I have heard some of the older fellows talk of killing them with a 22 LR HP with a handgun with no problem.

Ed, can't really say what load I had in it. But I think it was a subsonic hollow point. I have found that they aren't super hard to kill. I was only about thirty feet away and put the bullet in his head. He dropped and quivered once or twice and that was it. Shot a coyote in the head a week or so ago in the head with my S&W 34 and it didn't even flinch. They must have a really small brain or the bullet deflected from the bone. But it took two to go down.
