Well done on his part, tell him he can retire now that he has the record and just go fishing.

Re: Nice buck
It was huge, people tryed to say that we had the neck streched bigger. If that is even possable. But thats how big it was.have to ask him the weight i forgot. Those planks behind him are 12" so its like 5' of deer there.

Re: Nice buck
(I didn't like the water pump when it was in my ma'am-ma's kitchen, and liked the air-conditioned toilet even less)

Re: Nice buck
When I was young, my Grandparents still had the hand pump in the kitchen and the biffy behind the barn. I think people think I'm full of it when I tell them that. It was still fairly common in some areas even through the late 60's or beyond. I built a new biffy out here just in case and so I can hang more deer racks on it.

Re: Nice buck
My uncle still had the hand pump in the kitchen when he passed away in 2003... His idea of runnin' water. And the privy out back, beyond the garden. He'd only had 'runnin' water' for 15 or 16 years since his wife had her stroke and couldn't get around... County health made him install 'runnin' water' inside before they'd release her back to his care. When I stayed with him in the mid '50s as a kid, it was still out to the well and hand drawn water. Still some of the BEST tastin' water I've ever had.

Re: Nice buck
My son got his first deer when he was 13 years old, because he wanted a 44 Mag Marlin levergun, and I told him if he got a deer with mine, he could have it. I've still yet to get a 10-point buck, which was his first buck, but fortunately for him he's got mo-betta deer since then, even with a bow/arrow.

Re: Nice buck
My place, built in 1917, had a water pump like that on the drainboard when I bought it 40 yrs ago. We have since built a 2 story log house on the land and torn the old place down. The outdoor toilet remains out in front of our current home, though we now use it only for storage of flammables. Indoor plumbing is nice, especially on cold winter nights.
