.35 Remington
I recently sold another rifle and I just need the 3 day good faith inspection period to end and I'll have access to those funds.

I changed my mindPete44ru wrote:I didn't realize Browning was chambering BLR's in .35 Remington now !

Who knows how long American made Marlins will be produced not that Remington gobbled them up. I thought it might be a good chance to take. I still kick myself for not buying a Winchester 94 before they stopped making them and the prices shot up on those already in circulation.

Do people from a company as small as Marlin get golden parachutes?Pete44ru wrote:I don't blame you.
With Cerebus/Remington, Marlin's new owner(s) (Nov 2007), announcing a few days ago that they intend to close the Mass H&R plant by year's end & transfer only "some" employees South, if I was working at Marlin I'd be getting pretty nervous & start looking for a Golden Parachute.
Copper parachutes?

I picked it up today.
It's NIB, but I think it was manufactured a while ago. It has micro-groove rifling.
Which two digits indicate the year of manufacture?

Jason, that is a sweet rifle, and in 35 Remington too! Congratulations.

Then it was manufactured this year.J Miller wrote: Take the first two digits of the serial number and subtract them from 100. The result is the year of manufacture.
Joe
I thought they did away with micro-groove on all their guns.

Does anyone know a good source of load data for this round?
I'm curious to try using pistol bullets to make cheaper practice rounds.

There was an article posted on this forum a while back on shooting cast bullets in micro groove bores. I don't remember the details, since I don't have any bores with micro groove rifling, but if I recall the gist of it, you can shoot cast bullets in micro groove rifling and get excellent results, provided you (and this is where I'm a little shaky), you use a bullet that is about .001" over the groove diameter. It may have said something about hardness, but I cannot recall. Hopefully someone here remembers the article .... maybe check into the articles section, it might be there. If not, post the question as a new thread.
