(One of my most formative memories was of a PBS (!) bit about how the Mujahadeen make AKs out of Rebar and any flat bit of steel they could find....
(There is now a bit out on the interwebs by a guy who made an AK flat (and stock) out of a rusty garage sale shovel...)

After Dunblaine he produced a book that is banned in the UK but explains in simple detail how anyone with hand tools can build a working Sten out of nothing but BSP & generic hardware...
They threw him into prison for being a smart-butt, then refused him the medical treatment required for his cancer (lovely NHS, right?) - so he died.

I don't get it. ISIS is like the Talaban or some other irregular force. They are organized, heck I've seen photos of armored columns. Why don't we simple erase them with air power. Or, as my boys would put it, turn the whole **** area into a parking lot.
