Doc Hudson

Post by Blaine »

Only some of the older members will remember him. Sadly, I saw where he has passed on. Had a massive heart attack. I wonder if he ever wrote that cookbook? :(

He was one of the real good ones here. I recall his very unique method of concealing multiple handguns. Rest In Peace Doc Hudson.

DOC called on Christmas to say hello and we had a looooong gabfest about lots of things and gabbed at length about his trip to visit us here in the Black Hills. BOY...did we have a swell time that week or more...going everywhere....shooting up a ton of ammo...and startling all the Indians when they saw Doc, a 6'8" SCOT in full Scottish regalia with knives included !!!

Sorry to hear of this. I also miss his posts.

Good to hear he had a great time visiting Terry. Thanks for that report Terry.

I have wondered about Doc for some time. I know he suffered from severe depression, an enemy I know very well.
God rest your soul, friend.

If I remember right Doc was always a straight up person and not sharp or smart with his replies, a good man.

I still have Doc's "Sixgunner Biscuits" recipe. In his memory...

Sixgunner Biscuits
Larry “Doc” Hudson

Ingredients
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2-teaspoon salt
1/2-teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2/3-cup milk
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Mix together dry ingredients and cut in shortening until it resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in milk and stir only until the dough is stiff. Turn out on a floured board and knead about 1/2 minute. Flatten to about 3/4 inch and cut with a biscuit cutter dipped in flour. Place biscuits on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes.
Makes: About 8 to 10 biscuits

Rock, saving that recipe, and thank you for putting it up. Seems Doc also made hot sauce, didn't he? Always meant to order some.

Awww man. I hadn't seen him post in a long time the last time I frequented here. Doc always had a compliment for your firearms pics and I seem to recall he had a purple 94.
