A little range time.

Post by 2ndovc »

Went to an indoor range with my dad yesterday. Took a couple pistols that I'd bought not long
before I got sick and ended up in the hospital. First time out shooting since October I think.

I'd put a few rounds through the Ruger .327 Federal but nothing on paper. I was only shooting at 50 feet but I was pleased with the groups it looks to be capable. I was shooting mostly .32 H&R hand loads. Only have one box of .327s and went and left them at home.
I still have to order some .327 dies and brass and make up a few boxes. I didn't want to adjust the sights until I have the .327s and settle on what load it likes the best.

Also took a Bond Arms .45 Colt/.410 that I hadn't fired yet. Whooee does that kick!

I was able to keep the .45 Colts on the paper at @ 35'. I'd bought it kinda on a whim, the
price was right and I've wanted to shoot one. Don't think I'll keep it though, there's some other stuff
out there I want.

I'm still a little weak and wobbly from the long hospital stay and after an hour standing on the concrete it was time to go, but it felt good to get some shootin' time in and spend some time with my dad.

Just don't overdo it. Time at the range is always refreshing. Even the worst is still better than not.

Treasure the time with your dad. :) Will come a time when he won't be around to go with you to the range. I miss my dad every single day.

Good to see Your getting up and out Jason. Great looking Ruger. I will most likely be off work for another month after Eye Surgery last week, time for My spring trip to Dundee as well. The Gun Library is a big candy store for us all.
