New Western, Funky Rifle

Post by Ji in Hawaii »

Just saw this poster for a new Western movie, and noticed something that just doesn't look right. Is it my imagination or is the guy holding a cheap Chinese break-open pellet rifle?

Historically, I believe it was "Mild Bill" Hickok who carried the air rifle...

That "rifle" might be a handmade Native American artifact ....................

And, is that dark spot in the cloud below the "E" in "justice", a jet aircraft ? ? .

Amazing! You would think that for the promotional poster, they would at least use a Rossi 92 instead of the correct 73.....or 66.....or maybe an Italian Henry.----6

Who lets their pellet rifle smoke cigarettes anyway??? That smoke doesn't look like any smoke I have ever seen coming out of a gun barrel, even if I didn't see the pellet gun shape of the rifle. Is it any wonder that Hollywood has to use young people and the uninformed as the target audience?

It's smoking cause Mild Bill hid his stogie in the gun barrel when he saw his Ma coming down the street. The lawman on the right has a right hand rig and is holding his rifle left handed. The man on the ground seems to be grinning about his situation. I don't see anything in that poster that would inspire me to watch the flick even for free. :(

Maybe we all got it wrong and "The Gun that won the West" was only a pellet rifle! Those Buffalo, Bears and Injuns weren't so tough after all..... :?

The 2008 movie Apaloosa poster had Ed Harris holding a non gun, Denix replica Colt SAA and Ed Harris starred and directed the movie

Best line on the poster: "JUSTICE IS SERVED" (via Chicom pellet rifle).

Lee Majors (6 million Dollar Man) is still alive? This must be his first movie in 30 years.

Actually, quite a few. But, I didn't see this one listed in his IMDB filmography. Hmmm... A Hoax? And neither does Jeff Fahey's when I searched it.

Bill must pull the demons out of his past to gain the strength and courage to defend the place that he calls home and the good people in it.

On this site I am known as Booger Bill. On another site I am "Bogus Bill". I think I should patent that name before a more deserving see`s it. Maybe they ought to call him "Kill Bill".

The two standing characters at the bottom left and right of the poster were lifted directly from the cover of a DVD of a 2009 Western called " The Showdown" they at least pictured the rifle carrying man correctly, not reversed. "The Showdown" was just recommended by Netflix when I returned "Jane Got A Gun" which is a terrible Western. "The Showdown" features an unheard of cast and has 3.1 of 5 stars and apparently is such an obscure low budget flick that they didn't feel there was any threat of suit if they photoshoped 2 actors off its cover picture. I'm now 100% certain I won't bother to watch the WBH movie. Just a last minute thought, do you suppose they will add a star shaped muzzle flash from the pellet rifle's flash suppressor and the sound of the ejected shell landing on concrete as the gun chambers another round?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Sean Connery holding a Walter LP53 air pistol on the From Russia With Love posters.
I used to have one, should have kept it... his sold for $430,000 .....:(
