I'm back!
I know, not posting as regularly as I once was able to do, many probably didn't notice my absence for the last 2 weeks +! I took the family on a vacation, doing what we like to do best: take a cruise. I like it because we pack and unpack very few times, yet get to see a lot of places (my wife and children do not travel as lightly as I do; lack of experience! ). I also like it because I can truly get away from the 100+ work e-mails I get a day, and not feel guilty about not checking (too darn expensive).
I'm now paying the price, starting to dig out of the pile of e-mails, snail-mail, house & yard chores, etc. But it was so worth it!
I make it a practice not to post about going before a vacation (and don't let my family post on social media while we are gone, which drives them all nuts - an added bonus ); just for safety. Who knows who trolls here...
Anyway, a belated "Happy Birthday" to everyone I missed. I hope you are all doing well, have been safe and healthy, and got to go out shooting some - and/or bought a new gun or two, while I was gone!
Actually, with my FIL's passing right before we left (we didn't think we'd be able to go, and were about to call it off), I guess I've been AWOL pretty much all month. Seems longer, and I am glad to be "back home".

Gee Kid, you took a 100-count hit in your post count just to take a cruise?!?! Hope it was a good one.
Glad to have you back.

ps: A small Mexican town of "Ysabel" was mentioned in a Guns Of The Old West (my LAST issue!) article about Pancho Villa's raid on the U.S. in NM... Wonder if the your namesake "Ysabel Kid" hung out in that area...
Glad to have you back.

Re: I'm back!
My back survived the 8+ hour flights both ways. That was my worry. That, and being a pack-mule for my wife's luggage, which pressed right up against the weight limits! Fortunately, Y2K is now bigger (and stronger) than I am. Unfortunately, he packed worse than my wife.Rusty wrote:glad you're back, and speaking of that, how is your back?
Losing the weight last year has made a huge difference in my ability to withstand things that would have killed my back almost instantly, as well as bounce back from them.
And I didn't gain too much over the 2 week trip, though we ate like kings, as one tends to do on cruises. All the walking at our ports of call helped. I was hoping to gain no more than 10 pounds, only gained 6, and already lost 2.5 of it since being back. I'm back down to a net 60 lb weight loss since my high-point 1/1/2015.
Thanks for asking!

Yep, I saw that article and wondered about "Ysabel, Mexico" myself! I may have to add it to the bucket-list. This vacation was the completion of a 36 year arc. It will be hard to beat...

Re: I'm back!
BTW, who turned up the thermostat while I was gone?
Granted, it was hot and humid when I left, but whew-doggie, 100 degrees and 100% humidity when I got back?
OUCH!!!

YKid,
We will be cruising from Alaska down to Vancouver the second week of August and that will be our first cruise. Al that have been say it is great, especially the interesting port stop excursions.
Where did you folks cruise?
