Guns Of The Old West Mag

Post by DPris »

Athlon Sports picked up several old Harris titles, new issue of GOTOW out 9-20.
Just an FYI for those interested.

Sounds good. Be interesting to see how it shapes up as opposed to the original rag.

Same editor, several of the same writers, and judging from the one article proof I've seen so far, pretty much the same look.

This current company is a new ballgame, looking good so far.
I suspect you'll like the result.

Does this mean they picked up the subscriptions as well?

Not as far as I know.
I think I mentioned in an earlier post that the attorney handling the Harris liquidation listed approx. 50,000 subscribers as "debts" that they intended to repay, as I recall.

Dunno how, or when.

Harris's lock, stock, and office furniture, were all transferred to an attorney for liquidation and/or re-sale, who then sold some physical assets at auction & some intangibles (titles) to Athlon Sports, who's bringing some of those titles back.

The ending date for making a creditor's claim against Harris was July 7, which affected me, but I don't think they'd expect subscription holders to make individual claims.

I doubt Athlon would have also taken on any of Harris's ending debt as part of the buy.
But, I suppose it's possible.

.

It sounds good to me - I'm just glad I didn't renew my subscription 2 years ago. (I now pick up the issues I like from a magazine rack somewhere - usually Wally-World).

I just want the magazine back! :D

This is one I read cover to cover, each and every issue (the only periodical I do read in that way).

I'm hoping most of the contributors do stick around, and the magazine becomes stronger than ever!!!

Hope so too.
Same editor, I'm back (whether that's a positive or a negative...), and I don't know the whole line-up, but I imagine you'll see other familiar names.
