My Dan Pistol Pack is here!
Pistol pack is here ! - some literature I found in the case is dated 1978 , so I am assuming its from that time frame -- I put this in layaway some time ago and darn near forgot about it -- I'm glad I remembered
The flip flops in the photo are a homage to Ysabel Kid
In the cruel light of the sun, I see a little more freckling on one of the barrels than I saw at the gun store (the 6") -- but its in what I personally would consider Very Good condition, but not so nice that you'd be afraid to shoot it lots and lots
As snappy looking as it is with the 8" barrel , in my eyes at least --- I'm just asking myself whether I am ever going to actually try any of the other ones

Nice.
I have wanted one of those since watching the pilot for TJ Hooker when he went into his trunk and pulled it out.

Good for you, you'll love it. Had mine since I bought it used in '82.
I changed the rear sight to a Millett with a peep blade (they don't make them any more) and had a rifle bead dovetailed into one of the replaceable front blades, you can see it you can hit it.
I changed the springs to Bullseye, later changed them to Wolff. I seat bullets to match the long cylinder and give full support to the slug.
Friend of mine borrowed it once and shot only cheap lead .38s for a year. Took me a long time to remove lead build up from the front 1/10 inch of all the chambers. The lead buildup wasn't letting the case necks open fully to release the slugs when shooting .357s.

You know badly I wanted those in high school. What a great revolver. Which barrel do you you think you'll use the most?
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Re: My Dan Pistol Pack is here!
3leggedturtle -- I was thinking the 8 inch would stay on there indefinitely --- but now I don't know -- (I have S&W k frames's in 2.5" and 4" persuasion already that I am happy with )
But a couple of the comments here do make me want to try them all now
About a year ago, I cashed out on my relatively small Colt double action collection to build the kitchen the way I wanted to in my new house project ---- one of the ones sold was an 8" Python that I miss a little bit (I don't necessarily miss the Python, but I miss having a repeating handgun that's as accurate as a carbine out to 75 yards in single action mode if I do my part)
--- With Dan Wesson's reputation for accuracy and a great single action trigger -- I hope I have found the snake's replacement
I likely didn't shoot my Colts near enough for it to be a genuine issue in my lifetime, but the difficulty in repairing those critters if/when they do need some work plus the wild Gunbroker prices for those just led me to keeping them in the drawer, unused and un-loved
----- but the sale of them got my ex wife boutique appliances and nice oak moldings and cabinets throughout , so I cannot complain too much (except for my wife now being an "ex" --- ouch )
I hope to update this thread soon with a range report -- even if its an indoor range, but this beast deserves to be shot outside

Nice catch !
The Dan Wesson's finish & workmanship is beyond reproach - as good, if not better, than the finishes put out by Dan's family's old partner, Smith (& Wesson ).
Once upon a time, I had a (then) new 8", and while it was an admirable shootin' iron (it's weight makes it GREAT for competition), I found it a little too heavy for my taste, liking the lighter weight of my 8-3/8" S&W M-29 much better for handgun hunting.
Good luck with your find !

Re: My Dan Pistol Pack is here!
The worst mistake in my Life was selling my DW Pistol Pak to buy a Smith Model 29 44 mag.
The 6" barrel was my favorite.
IIRC; new my Pistol Pak cost $279.00, this was middle 1970's

I think that's an older style barrel wrench. Most of the ones I've seen have a clear plastic body with 3 allen wrenches sticking out of it. Was your revolver made in Monson, Mass.?

Cool stuff!! Always wanted a set like that.
I have a Model 29 w/ an 8 3/8" barrel that I shoot quite a bit. Tote it around the cabin in PA too. Love that thing.

Looks good. Hopefully it will be as good as its reputation.
