Winchester Mod-94 .44 magnum ejector spring
the win 94 .44 mag is known for having weak ejection in some rifles ,mine is that way ,it barely dribbles the casings out the ejection port ,and it is getting worse ,instead of replacing with a .44 mag spring , and getting the same problem ,has anyone ever replaced ejector spring with one made for the 30-30 model ? would it work ,and will it kick the shells out farther?
Re: Winchester Mod-94 .44 magnum ejector spring
In looking at a couple of schematics and parts lists, they look to be the same spring. Caliber-specific ejectors, but the same ejector spring.

At that price per spring and figuring there will be shipping cost the same whether you buy one or dozens, I'd either:
http://ads.midwayusa.com/product/707222 ... ack-of-100
Note I wouldn't be so cavalier about just 'trying one to see if it works' if it were a critical-for-function one like a semiauto recoil spring, but you can easily tell if the spring is 'right' by just cycling a few rounds and empties.
- Just order one of each, and see which works best, or
Order a generic small (they list specific size ranges) spring-set from Wolff or Brownell's and see if one works or can be made to work.

For thought: If you're a reloader, an ejector spring that dribbles your brass over the side of the receiver, dumping them in a relatively small area, is a GOOD thing!

Re: Winchester Mod-94 .44 magnum ejector spring
My experience is it's more about the poor fit of the ejectors. Manufactures tend to over spring to cover up poor fit. I have never had to replace those springs, but I have seen many where the ejector does not move smoothly requiring some clearancing.
