Same gun each time. He mostly bow hunts but gets a firearms-season deer each year too.

It used to be my gun but when he was 13, I told him if he got a deer with it he could keep it. That have me an excuse to get my 1894SS to replace it. I put old-man sights on it.

He even cooked the heart and some squash and taters and made his Ma and Pa dinner....!

(....I figger either he broke sumpthin' I haven't found out about yet, or he must be fixin' to ask fer some money...)

What, don't you know a 44 in a carbine is too wimpy for deer, but in a handgun it'll tear your arms of and blow game to pieces. I heard this stuff all the time in the store, it must be true.
