I have a friend who has one. He converted his to a centerfire so it could be reloaded.

Aquila is in the process of making Ammo for the 5mm Remmy. It may already be in the pipe line.

I see them at auctions around here about once a year and they go cheap.....as you know....ammo problem...even if they bring back the ammo, it's not going to be in large numbers so therefore, will be as expensive as shooting high priced centerfire ammo.

Never did like rimfires of any sort except the .22 L.R.......I like to pull the trigger but in a non expensive way.

If your bored it might be worth looking into what the other guys here have said...on the conversion.....but....in my view, you really got to be bored.------Mr. Mould

I seen my bud shoot a lizard off the 100 yard berm at the range with a scoped one.. very accurate with that jacketed bullet... Him & his gf & me & my gf were using the 1 inch black squares on a target for scope sighting were competing for best group ... no one was out of the black..except when said bud called the shot on the lizard  Wicked on feral cats too.

I bought one new back in the '70s. Great little rifle. Ultra-accurate and was devastating on woodchucks. Remington screwed over us owners by discontinuing the ammo after only a few years. I was told many years ago it was an unwritten rule that any time a new cartridge was introduced the factory would make ammo for it for a minimum of 20 years. Not so in this case, and being a rimfire and unreloadable, it made the guns useless. I remember at one point, when ammo was going for $50. a box!
