YEEHAW!!!

Post by Griff »

Filled the cans again:
Image
While I waited to get the casting pot hot enough to cast, I reloaded some 45ACP, 45Colt and Cowboy45Specials... In fact... overshot the 45Colt goal a little, not all that I loaded will fit! At a recent Wild Bunch match, a new shooter showed up with a 45ACP pistol, no rifle and no shotgun... another shooter offered to load the new guy a rifle & shotgun, but didn't have enough ACP or Colt ammo to feed two shooters... I did. But, made a BIG dent in the ACP can... but all better now!

Neat. Those cans hold well over 2500 rounds of 45 ACP, I got 3 of them loaded and ready for when the time comes. :)

They sure are beauties.....all nice and shiny. In addition to moulds I have a thing for large amounts of bright shiny ammo. Kind of like looking at a big wad of cash....security------6

Hey Griff, you need a few 20mm cans! They hold so much ammo ya can't move em!
I have one for the shotgun press, when I was competing I could get 1200+ 12 ga in it. Just enough for a match!
I have a 50 cal can full of 40 S&W. 30 cal cans full of all kinds of ammo...
One thing I did back in '08 was 100 round battle packs of 223 that I made using my vacuum packing machine. In a pinch you can cook in the bags, carry water, sit on wet ground AFTER you load your mags! Not to mention you can bury ammo where ever ya want. Now that our Country is on the RIGHT path again I guess I need to do some shooting!

Yes, I use a taper crimp. Then run them all thru a chamber checker... I don't need any surprises at a match!

Great! Got a Lyman 8 hole block there (Midway) for $30.99 that covers all my auto pistol calibers. No more having to bring the pistol to the loading bench - Thanks for the link.

I got the same Lyman block... meant to go today & buy one for rifle calibers, but it barely got above feezing today... didn't get anything cast, or shot... made a good impression as a couch potato today! Been able to catch the NFR Finals from Vegas all week. Oh to be young again! Not to compete, that leads to bein' a stove up crippled ol' cowboy... been down that road... but to chase the cowgirls!!!
