I have caught pygmy rattle snakes in south Florida that have a dark purple color on them.

Dont know why Brad , but most times the ones down here , have to be really mad before they rattle. That's scary too . Hate em with a passion!

The one's out here tend to rattle first and strike second. This one only got to rattle.
