The School Janitor Is... "A Medal of Honor Recipient"
Thank God for Soldiers -- and Janitors too!
I saw this story online this morning and thought it was pretty neat.
Figured you'd all enjoy reading it.

Side note:
My mother was a teacher for 40+ years and she always treated the janitors as important members of the school staff. While other "more educated" teachers would look down on "someone who pushed a broom for a living"... My mother knew & remembered their birthdays, knew all their kids and wives names, and treated them like the great people they were. Guess who had the cleanest rooms in the school?!

Reminds me of another shy, quiet janitor I encountered while a student at the University of Oregon. But Ray DeAutremont was a public figure for entirely different reasons.

That story is a perfect example of why we should treat everyone with respect, regardless of what we think their position in life is. Whether a janitor won the Medal of Honor or not, they deserve the same respect anyone does! Great story #7!

"I was a stranger and you did not take me in, I was naked and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not visit me."
"Then they also will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or In prison and not serve you?' "
"He will answer, 'Truly I say to you, as you did it not for the least of these, you did it not for me.' "
Matthew 25:43-45

If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

Sure is a welcome kick in the gut, to bring one back to reality of just how special that silent generation was...
