Love 32 SP, grew up hunting with one given to me, my dad also hunted with one.
I have one of the first made around 1902 or 3, it is a beauty, I should post pictures.
Yours is very nice, thanks for the pics. Shot a small buck this past fall with one
made in 1946, I was born in 1945 so I hunt with that one.

Picked up this old Winchester today it was made in 1929 .32 Win. Spl.
I'm no Winchester expert at all but it kind of looks to me anyway that it might have been a special order
I have no idea if the ladder sight came from Winchester and has a shotgun style butt and the half mag tube
FWIW:
The Type 6 tang marking ran from SN 1,080,000 (1929) to SN 1,180,000.
The barrel marking is also Type 6, starting in the 960,000 SN range to the 1,100,000 SN range.
Both are commensurate with a 1929 gun.
IDK about the sights, but Lyman sights were a factory option.
In addition to the sights, the 2/3 magazine & shotgun butt are definitely Special Order features, IMO worthy of obtaining a Cody Letter for.
It's a VERY nice Carbine !

Nice. In my neck of the woods, that was a popular configuration, and called an "eastern carbine".
I have one made that same year. They are generally great shooters, due to having no band and magazine pulling at the end of the barrel.
Good score! Enjoy your carbine.

Old Win got it right....special orders were history long before that date.....the factory made those shorter mags for areas of the country that liked 'em......like that state where Old Win comes from. With the shorter mag, it was easier to hide the rifle inside a Buffalo coat.---6

FYI, according to their website, the Cody Museum will letter the dates for warehouse & SN application for the Model 1894/94 from SN 1 (1894) to SN 353999 (1904)
SN application (SNA) dates only from SN 354000 (1905) to SN 1352066 (1949).
