Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
Several emails and calls to Dillon Precision they asked me to send in my RL550. I've had it since the mid '90s and for the last couple of years it just hasn't been working well after sitting about a year unused. Just didn't have the strength or desire to do any reloading. Primers weren't feeding right and just wasn't indexing properly. A very nice man named Wayne from Dillon called about a week ago and set me up with a whole new priming system and cleaned and lubed press. The box arrived FedEx express yesterday along with an invoice that listed all the services and a whopping No Charge at the bottom!
Should have it all put back together this afternoon.

Awesome Jason !! I Love that kind of Customer Service. .
Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
Hurrah for you -- and Dillon too!
They were great for me when I upgraded an old RL450.
Here's an old link to a heavy bench I built for my Dillon (for use and storage too), which might give you some ideas.

Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
Everytime I start thinkin' it'd be nice to have my oldest 550 rebuilt (1980's), I shoot a bunch of ammo and have to reload... get my ammo cans refilled and fall exhausted to sleep... and forget about all the adjusting and tinkering I had to do while reloading... until the next time... like now. This has been going on for the last 5 years or so...
So... go shooting tomorrow, or... trim my .30-30 brass?

Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
That's what I've been doing for the last year or so. Trying to tweak this or that. Wasn't getting anywhere. Dillon sent me a little box of parts and stuff but really was out of my league. I'm no mechanic. I can build a house in my sleep, but don't ask me to fix anything mechanical.
After reloading a couple boxes of .357s on Grandpa's old single stage Hollywood Gun Shop press I hopped on the line to Dillon.
There was a bit of confusion between the email sent to me and Wayne's call. They told me to send the press only, but Wayne fixed me up with a whole bunch of new parts.
I've spent a bunch of $ with that company over the years. Think I'll go order something new this evening.

Few years back when i wanted to get my Colt SAA tuned up i called Bob Munden and he talked my ear off for a hour about how good Dillon reloading equipment was.

Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
My Dillon 550 is older than dirt. Probably the same vintage as Griff's. Mine is probably getting close too, but it's like an old friend.
I had lightning get the AC plug on my Dillon D-Terminator electronic scale. I called and told them what happened. They still insisted they replace it free. The guy laughed when I gave him the model. It was the first version they ever made. I had a new one in a few days.
Dillon is the best!

Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
That's funny.
My First digital scale was a PACT, which was then bought by RCBS, ( I think I have that right). Anyway, PACT replaced it twice and then RCBS sent me a new green one and I've been using that one for at least 10 years. I double check it with the Dillon, Hollywood and an RCBS balance beam scale and it's always right on. Most accurate scale I've had.

Ya can NOT beat Dillon customer service!
My 550 runs like a champ, however my SL900 has a lot more ammo through it and I've needed some parts, never had to spend a dime!
Bout a month ago I was changing from 12 to 28 gauge and a plastic part fell out of the powder measure. Before I knew it had bounced and Parker had it...CRUNCH! I called Dillon, told the guy what happened , he was laughing. I asked for 2 of those ,sent 2 no charge.
Dillon is T H E B E S T.

Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
Your Parker ate a part from your Dillon. Only a gun guy would see the humor in that. Did Parker keep chewing, or was one crunch enough to convince her that it was not food or chew toy?

Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
Since it was a plastic sleeve 1 crunch was all it took to destroy it! She pretty much spit it out after that.

Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
Even though she spit it out, it is still funny. The representative at Dillon has to be a gun person to see the homor there. Not just a dog, but a Parker crunching your reloading press. Imagine the damage if she had been named something like Hi-Point or Llama or Calico.

Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
Yep, Dillon's the best. My 550 started life as a 450 which I updated over the years. Has given me almost 40 years of faithful service. Yes, I've replaced several parts and I spend a lot of time getting it set just right but when I start loading she runs smooth.

It is nice to be 30 miles away from Dillon. If I have an issue with my press, I just pull it from the bench and make the trip. The Wife and I have lunch in Scottsdale. Every time I say I need to go to Dillon's, she announces where is lunch today.
And by the way, Her favorite Lunch place is the "White Chocolate Grill". Located just off the 101 & Scottsdale Road.

Re: Got a box from Dillon yesterday.
Sounds like Blue is a really good outfit. I enjoy their catalog, but got sucked into a Hornady LNL back when they offered 1000 free bullets along with the press. "Gee that makes the press practically free!" was my thought. But I shoot so few jacketed bullets I bet I still have 900 left after at least 10 years.
But Red has treated me fine so far -- sent me a new primer actuating rod when I screwed up the original along with a couple extra springs for no charge. I haven't needed anything serious yet.
