What makes my avatar suddenly disappear? If I go to my profile to edit it, the avatar still shows correctly. But for some reason it no longer displays?

Re: Avatar
Maybe related....
I can't see an 'attached' file after I attach it sometimes. If there is no text it won't show at all.
If there is text in the post the attachment "placed online" doesn't show up but after I submit the post the picture is there. Back to edit and....not there....
Strange.

But why does my avatar show when I look at my profile? It shows the correct current avatar, but when I post it's not showing?

"Facts" not in evidence. 8 years on the same I-Mac. Zero issues. Comcast is an entirely different story.

Re: Avatar
Seems odd that an avatar I have had for a very long time would suddenly be corrupted? And even stranger that my profile shows it's there, but it wont show in posts I make? I wonder if it has something to do with recent site upgrades?COSteve wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 10:24 amMine was meant to show that the site's Avatar capability is working as ours show correctly meaning that I'm betting there is something corrupted on yours.marlinman93 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 9:45 pm None of these tests tell me anything? Doesn't this forum have an computer admin who responds to these types of issues?

Calm down.COSteve wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 11:59 amMore "Facts" 10 years on the same Dell computer. Zero issues. Comcast is an entirely different story too. So what did you intend to prove, that Apple is 'better' than PCs? I'll grant you that they are more expensive, that's a given. Better? It's a matter of taste. More like the Ford and Chevy argument.

Re: Avatar
Not to highjack this post, but while on the subject of avatar's, I tried to use my sign-off one below to put on my Wells Fargo debit card. I had an email from them that I could personalize my card, and since I took the picture below, I own it (it's my 2nd Model Dragoon reproduction along with a Colt bowie knife).
Wells Fargo rejected it.
I need to call them and let them know...
(1) I own the picture
(2) The firearm shown is based on a design from 1850 (so, 170 years old), and shoots a lead round ball over loose black powder
(3) The weapons are those of a literary character, the Ysabel Kid (pronounced "sable"), from Western author J.T. Edson - the character being about 70 years old
Think they will change their minds?
I'm not holding my breath...

Re: Avatar
Since it appears there's no answer, and this thread has gone the usual route of being off topic; I'll just live without an avatar. Not a big deal I guess.

Did you try deleting your avatar and uploading a fresh one? I didn't have one before, but I just put one up and it works.

Re: Avatar
Yes, but any I've tried to upload say they're too large, including trying to reload the one I previously had. Maybe the site changes reduced the avatar image size, and that's why mine no longer works? Not computer savvy enough to know how to downsize to meet site limits.

Re: Avatar
I had to do some experimenting to get mine within limits. If you want, post your picture here or attach it to a PM and I'll resize it for ya.
