Trust me, it's frustrating that these boys can't get it figured out at 4 months old. However I believe the boys just take a little longer to get it.
Of course I have never had to deal with 3 puppies at one time this long before- it's different!

Are they watching you clean up? Someone 'splained to me that if the pup sees you clean up his mess he thinks that's where he is supposed to go. Worked for us . . .

That is an interesting theory, hadn't heard that before. Yes sometimes I clean it up in front of them, other times I chase them out the door first.

Popeye wasn't near as dirty but boy did Sage and Turq get into it!

So Turq will be going to his new home tomorrow or Saturday! Nice couple that have been dog people all their lives.
Got a call this afternoon, person looking for a female. I offered them to come visit if they wanted to.

Sage has found a new spot to sit and watch the bird feeder!

So Miss Sage is becoming a trouble maker, no I can't say that, she is SMART!
She started climbing over the kitchen gate so I made a roller and mounted on top of the gate. Its 4" pvc pipe, has a 1¹/⁴ pvc axle.
Well that had her stymied for about a week! So I raised the gate the height of 1 hinge. That worked for maybe a week.
Got home today and the daytime puppy wrangler says your won't believe what she did today!
She was caught red pawed sitting in the bay window about to eat an orchid! A while later she was again caught sitting on the coffee table/ trunk. All the while going over the gate at her discretion.
So I raised the gate another hinge height. Next thing I know she is trying to go under the gate- Popeye/Mingo was grabbing her by the collar and pulling her back in the kitchen! So now I made up a filler for the bottom of the gate.

It looks like maybe Sage will be doing the shooting and you'll be retrieving......

This past week I've received multiple emails looking for a pup.
Yellow girls, boys.
What stands out in these emails are the folks that actually relate their past Labradors. Those folks get a reply. The ones that don't are the ones that tell me they are local ( in state) but will send a reputable transporter to pick up the puppy. Oh and of course they want to transfer funds. Huge RED FLAG!!!

Oh and if they call me like a woman did the other day and I hear her husband in the background yelling WE ARE GETTING HIM I know I have a home for Popeye! They are coming Saturday.

Will, I confess I am sad to see them all go. This thread has been such a daily spirit lift at my house.

Those pups will spread a lot of happiness to the lucky families that got them Will, they also kept us amused too..

Not to worry guys, the exploits of Sage will continue!
I'll be honest , it's fairly easy to send them on their way, between the puddles, steamers, chewing furniture, shoe laces, each other, climbing gates, on the counters( Sage) and everything else you can imagine you are glad to be rid of them. However it is sad but I know they will make someone else happy.
Of all the pups over the past decade each has gone to great homes, some are hunting 1 is a therapy dog- that's rewarding!

Well Popeye has gone to his new home. I tell ya I'm SAD to see him go.
First thing I did was to get the bottle of pheasant scent and put a few drops on the little stuffed squeaky toy pheasant I bought months ago for Sage. I handed it to her, she sniffed it took it and then proceeded to lick it clean! IT HAS BEGUN!
