Re: OT - Favorite pocket knife and why?
Full sized Case Trapper, yellow handle, carbon steel blade. The same knife my Daddy, Uncles, and Grandfather carried when I was a kid. I can sharpen and leather strop the blade so I can shave with it. The best pocket knife ever made in my book. Can't be improved on. (Well, maybe if it came in a lock blade version............)

I have an old one of those somewhere... found it in the street in WY about 30 years ago. Needs new scales...66GTO wrote:

Spyderco. Have had a number of them over the years, opening with the hole is second nature, I never could get used to a stud. Latest is an Adventura, favorite is an old Horn that they don't make anymore.

Re: OT - Favorite pocket knife and why?
Everyday carry pocket knife is a little Case lock blade. I forget the model, and a Leatherman standard model on my belt daily and a little Leatherman Micro in the pocket too. I'd be lost without 'em.
Re: OT - Favorite pocket knife and why?
This Spiderco Police model has been my constant companion for the last 17 years.
I have a LOT of knives, but 99% of the time I have this on me, even if I'm carrying others.
Slow is just slow.
Re: OT - Favorite pocket knife and why?
Cas, there's something about the Police model. It just seems to fit the hand. It's got a fairly long and stout blade, yet carries easy in a jeans pocket. Spyderco hit a homerun with that one. Their plastic handled ones just don't have the same feel.

I think it's called a spey blade, might've spelled that wrong, but around these parts they're known to be used to make li'l bulls into steers.Old Savage wrote:Hatchett - what is the second blade for - never got it.
I usually carry 2 knives, a yellow handled Case Trapper or an old Ulster along with a Syderco Native or a Benchmade AFCK.

Ah,

Re: OT - Favorite pocket knife and why?
I'm a bit of a knife junkie, but the Native is a favorite. For a relatively inexpensive knife, it's held up to a lot of abuse over the last 10 years.mescalero1 wrote:Ah,

I think I'd really like a fixed blade made with the same profile.

Re: OT - Favorite pocket knife and why?
Brilliant design, isn't it?
Re: OT - Favorite pocket knife and why?
Dunno that I'd go so far as brilliant, but the ergonomics are excellent, and I like a drop point with a bit of belly. I did have to rework the edge bevels, but that's probably more personal preference than anything else.

GOLDEN, COLORADO

I don't know why, but that's always cracked me up. Easily amused I guess.

most of these fellas talk about one knife, perhaps because a favorite was asked for.nobearsyet wrote:My favorite is a 4" single blade folder me and my dad built out of a piece of Ford bumper, but my everyday carry knives are a Benchmade Nitrous Stryker, Buck little 2 blade trapper pattern knife, and a... hope noone here ever learns what number 3 is
i too carry multiple cutting tools most always.
kershaw makes a nice working knife bump, blackout etc.
case, nice folders. leatherman, nice multis, wave my fav.
on an average day i'll have at least three on me, maybe more.
hope i don't fall in the river i'd probly sink.
careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

I burned the blade badly on my BUCK knife , accidently cuntting through a live 110 wire. The BUCK company replaced it for free , and thanked me for the thank you letter I sent them. Good people , and I really like the knife.

Re: OT - Favorite pocket knife and why?
O.S.
I know why you dont carry one! Its because you do carry somthing that also is made of very nice metal except yours can reach out and touch someone!
Did someone say "never bring a knife to a gun fight"
I understand this very well
