Good score Blaine. Those are nice.
I love Smith revolvers. Every one I've had has been a shooter.

Good looking sixgun. I am a major fan of the Smith and Wesson DA sixguns in 45 ACP having several. Here is my favorite.

Blaine, Go with the Auto Rim and a bullet with a crimp groove so you can do a proper crimp.
I use the RCBS 45-230-CA bullet in the .45 auto and for all my Cowboy and target .45 cal. loads.
Best set up I have found yet.

Nice Nice and Did I mention nice!!!! I missed out on one these in April of 2011 when my reefer went bad with a load of ice cream in Laredo when it hit 101 to 108 for 10 days. the day i was leaving my alternator and belt went out so lost another 4 days. Needles to say I reaaly wish I had it. Hope to hear a range report soon. A Lee 255RNFP work great in my 45ACP T/C Carbine, just aint ran them thru my 1911 or P97 yet.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Buffalo Bore has a bone cruncher .45acp with a 255 hardcast flatpoint. I'd like to emulate something like that......3leggedturtle wrote:Nice Nice and Did I mention nice!!!! What is the bore on it? .451 or .452? You may have to size some of the .45 cast out there that are for revolvers. Maybe the cylinders are open enough to use the .452 as is?BlaineG wrote:Buffalo Bore has a bone cruncher .45acp with a 255 hardcast flatpoint. I can't understand the issue with moon clips. I use a moon tool and demooner. With these I can remove empties and reload a clip in just seconds. I usually keep all of my clips full, with various loads, and just grab what I want for any given occasion. And, it's cool that I can grab either the 1917 or the 1950 Target and a bunch of clips that fit either.

Steve: I have no idea. I'll shoot it first, and if it won't shoot, I'll delve into it.
Jeepnik: I'll try either the Wilson, or Ranch product...they both seem to be a buck apiece, and well thought of.

Blaine, these are the two tools I use (the moon tool is inset on the right of the page). Makes things a snap.

I use the Wilson full moon case extra, a little further down the page.
