OT YOUR GAS PRICES???

Post by TedH »

On Friday the price of gasoline here dropped again to the lowest level in several years. Regular Unleaded is at $1.39. Just wondering how it is around the country.

Our highest over the summer was $3.99.

I am still at about 1.70, but that is a relief from the 3.99 it was 6 months ago.

We are at 1.75. One of our Congressman announced plans to investigate why Vt was at National average in the spring and now we are 20 cents above the national average. The next day prices around the state dropped 10 cent. The local station went out and interviewed Gas Station owners and one of them said that he lost some money in the spring and he was trying to make it back, and that's why he was higher.

As a side note the Mobil station in my town was $1.799 on Thurs evening, 9 miles down the road the next town's Mobil station was $1.979. How can they do that?

Just refilled for $1.54/gallon. Just over the border in NC it is about $0.10/gallon more expensive on average. Hopefully the price will drop to a buck a gallon and oil down to $30 a barrel. Serves the darn Saudi's right after helping to push the world into a recession. Hope they learn their lesson!

Today gas was between $1.49 and $1.56, down from a high of a little over $4 during the summer. BTW don't forget a nice chunk of all gas prices are state taxes, so when your Congress Critters start questioning why your prices are higher, don't forget to look at the state capital. (TN take $0.214 on each gallon, so W/O state tax a gallon would be down around $1.28 to $1.35 today).

BTW I googled Maine and if this info is correct then your state Gas taxes are at $.047 a gal on gas. Might make up of the difference above the average.

I think the whole BS with the oil prices...
cutting production...along with the increase
in demand from india and china
was in fact to destroy the economy of the west
and get rid of conservatives

I seem to remember predicting this a while back when the prices were at their highest and despair reigned. I have to say I have no idea what is going to happen in the general economy. I kinda feel nostalgic for the strong economy and high fuel prices!

$1.79 today for 89 octane unleaded, down from a local high of $4.09 back in Aug/Sep.

Months of waterboarding could not convince me that the price run-up last spring and summer wasn't speculative manipulation. Everyone I know is driving the same amount they did last summer. I am.

Don't get me started.
