Shot my new Rossi '92 got a ?
I shot my new Rossi .45 colt src yesterday, I was shooting some loads from Stars and Stripes Ammo with a 250 grn Speer Gold Dot HP standard pressure supposed to hit 950fps from a revolver, it was offhand in deep snow about 30 yards and shot two 1" groups, first one a bit high then the second one on and just left of the bull, not bad I thought.
Then I shot some Grizzly 335grn WLNGC cast bullets supposed to hit 1175fps, not one even hit paper! I think they were shooting low but that seems counter intuitive to me, it was hard to tell 'cause the back drop is already shot up pretty good. The paper was a 9" paper plate.
Any thoughts as to what's up with that?

Yeah I'm photo illiterate at this time but will work on it....
The recoil was a bit more with the grizzly loads but not bad, can't believe that would make 'em miss the paper, ???
I like it though, just need to tame that ejector spring, I think I could kill a squirrel with the ejected case if I could aim it!

How big's your paper. I bet you're shooting over it. Muzzle rise from recoil. The Lewis wrote:I shot my new Rossi .45 colt src yesterday, I was shooting some loads from Stars and Stripes Ammo with a 250 grn Speer Gold Dot HP standard pressure supposed to hit 950fps from a revolver, it was offhand in deep snow about 30 yards and shot two 1" groups, first one a bit high then the second one on and just left of the bull, not bad I thought.

It generally goes the heavier, slower load spends more time in the barrel so the bullet path is more affected by the muzzle rise during recoil. I agree with Steve & Joe, (I gotta type faster) , probably over.

Well, the shooting high bit makes sense to me, but I tried holding low and then real low and still no new holes. Guess I should try it again with a bigger piece of paper.... Got some grizzly 300 grn loads too but they won't cycle through the action, too long but they will cycle through the Blackhawk
