They are several hundred years too late for anyone to be the first to put a bayonet on a pistol.

Ever see one of the "Apache" Revolvers? It not only had a knife blade, it also had a set of brass knuckles, and a seven shot pinfire revolver cylinder (usually with no barrel).

Ever see an Elgin Cutlas Pistol? A .44 caliber single-shot percussion muzzle-loader with a 16? cutlass blade bolted to the underside of the barrel, the Navy bought a few hundred to equip an expedition exploring in the South Pacific. The swabbies really liked them, but Elgin went belly-up before they returned with their glowing reports.

I've seen pistols with spring-loaded bayonets on them that date back to the 17th Century and before. On a single-shot front-stuffer, they made a little sense. On a semi-automatic repeating pistol, they are definitely "as useless as boobs on a footlocker."

Ever seen an Elgin cutlass pistol? Same Idea, in CQB it just gives you one more option without shifting anything around. IMHO if I still need that gizzie after empting 16 from the pistol and two spare mags, it willl be to cut my own throat and save my opponant the trouble. But is they paint it black and call it tactical they should sell a bunch.
