Australian????

That guy did some serious water proofing, intake and exhaust plumbing to get that little Suzuki to do that.

Not Australian, that accent is pure Brummie, thats where I came from Birmingham, England.

I had a Suzuki like that but only ever had the water up to my head lights.

Yes he did do some serious waterproofing. I've had three of those little Suzuki Samurais and they were good tough little cars/SUVs. I kinda wish I had one now. I keep my eyes open for a good one and when I come across one, I'll get it.

Game Keeper,

Thanks for clearing that up. With my hearing and the background noise in that video it was really hard for me to tell.

Can't remember which way the measurements ran but my 1942 Willys jeep and a Suzuki Samuri wheel base measurements are 80 inches and 79 1/2 inches.
I know where there is a good suzuki body, when I get settled in, in New Mexico; I will make a winter project of putting the suzuki body on the jeep frame in my Quonset hut. Nice to be indoors and heated in the winter. That Willys has a V-6 buick in it.

Some where on the early cj5 site I saw an article in which a suzuki frame was combined with the flat fender body and suzuki/toyota driveline. There is also kits to use a pre 1998 VW diesel motor with the suzuki drive line.

Model 55,
A extreme suspension kit for the suzuki, with the wheelbases being 1/2" apart, it will lift the suzuki hi enough to clear everything.
I will have to build a steering column extension, but I have a lathe, mill, welding equipment.
Should wind up being a nice 4x4.

I had a Samurai for a while ... this is a before pic. I put a new top on it and new seat covers, and mud grip tires. Didn't really need much else.

Image

The previous owner had put a Weber carb on it, it ran good but was only good for about 55-60 mph on the highway. And the ride was awful, roughest riding vehicle I've ever owned, by far.

This 86 Toyota 4x4 turned out to be a MUCH better hunting rig.

Image

I kept this one for a long time, and it was part of many adventures. I passed it down to my youngest son and my brother and I built a flatbed for it. It was pretty close to the ultimate hunting rig, and the A/C still worked!

My ex-hunting buddy in CA has a Suzuki Samauri... took out the 4-banger and put the V-6 engine in it. Lots of pep and still economical.

I really liked my Geo Tracker/Suzuki Samarui ... until it dropped #3.

If I could have afforded to replace the engine I would have... but I couldn't. Sigh...

I like what you did to that toyota. I have a tacoma and I think it is a wonderful hunting vehicle. It won't do what the suzuki did in that puddle though!

Back in the late 70's I was in the S.W. Fla 4WD Assn. It seems like everything we did was underwater. That stuff is sure hard on throw out bearings.
