Reading For Marlin Fans

Post by crs »

The March 2, 2009 issue of Gun Digest Magazine arrived today and it contains an article by Sam Fadala asking Marlin to bring back (manufacture) the Marlin 336 Texan. Sam liked the little Texan and wants Marlin to make some more for today's geberation of woods hunters.

Personally I agree with him. You think Marlin will listen?

I wonder what it would cost to have one made out of a standard 20 inch barrel.....have any idea? cost to have it chopped?

He is looking for one chambered in .35 Rem. If you have one for sale or know of one for sale, Sam would be most appreciative. Let me know and I will pass along the info. Thanks, 1886.

I looked a long time and am loathe to let mine go even to Sam Fadala. Does he want it for a test/article?
Sincerely,

Not that I am aware. He has been looking for some time now. I hooked him up with TNBigBore when he had one for sale but we were too late. Thanks, 1886.

You know over on the Ruger site, some folks are convinced that factory people read the forum. Personally, I doubt that's true considering some of the stuff they've put out lately. But I kinda have to wonder if factory folks don't look in here every now and then just to check the pulse of their fan base. It's said that the new one from Marlin was inspired by comments made here. Let's hope so. Personally, I'd love to see them make a .22 lr with a side loading gate instead of front of tube. Or, how about an honest to God left handed levergun. Any caliber, any configuration. I'd buy it in a heart beat.
