He's one of your FBI trackers; he broke his cover...

On a more serious note - I see on THAT forum there is a little "printable version" logo at the bottom left of the page, and if you click that, you get a version of all 17 pages you can save as one file...

Does Leverguns have anything like that...? I wind up saving multiple pages individually, and it is a real time consumer.

Didn't our 1911 thread go longer than that? Sore Shoulder started that, right?

I have taken notice that there seems to be a decent interest in
casting /reloading the .357 mag. for use in rifles.
I have been doing some exploration into possibly starting a dedicated
forum regarding this topic.

Thoughts please. :D

As much as I like the .357 in a rifle, that's an awfully narrow focus. As a sub-forum it might work, but I think it would die pretty quickly or devolve into somthing totally non-.357...

Good thought though.

I have the same concern; it would indeed be a narrow subject.
But it could bloom into something fun and interesting as others
Have. :)

I may very well start it out in a free group format, such as is found on
www. multiply.com or www. yuku.com.
Still in the research & planning stage's.

Maybe a pistol caliber forum to cover more bases?

I've been thinking about sending one of my Handi Rifles back in and having a .357 Mag barrel put on it. If I do I think I'll also ream the barrel to .357 Max.

A 180 grain cast out of that should zip right along.

I should know this after all the Max threads but I'll ask anyway...

You can shoot Mags out of the Max right? Kind of like shooting Specials in a Mag?

Yep you can shoot mag's and .38 Spcls as well.

I'm thinking that with a Max and 180 grains you should be able to top 2400 FPS.

I think 2200-2300 fps or so is about max for the MAX with the 180s. One can also use the .38 Colt and Short Colt cases. 2.5 gr. Bullseye under a 200 gr. cast in a .38 Special case "bloops" from a rifle barrel but shoots pretty well out to 50 yards. Great fun. Several people have reamed the .357 Mag barrels out to .357 Max.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Well my Rossi 92 is just about my favorite firearm. .357 has long been my favorite caliber. I have more firearms chambered for it then any other. Including the semi-auto Coonan. I went and copied that web pages to a Word document so I can read it offline when I have time.

The two links dedicated to the .357 max in "rifles".
The second one is from one of our own.
