Somewhat OT: and i thought Christmas was in Dec. !!

Post by Streetstar »

Oh boy ! The postman brought me close to 200 pieces of Norma manufactured .300 Weatherby today and a die set! I know that doesnt sound like a lot, but at the range, the big Magnum only gets fired maybe 10 times a session at most -- so this is a lifetime supply. Really looking forward to putting together some test batches to see what my rifle likes best (if i can find primers and projectiles -- there is ashortage of reloading supplies at a lot of places, i'm finding)

For the uninitiated, the bottom pic is the .300 compared to a 5.56 case. It used to be the top dog .300 mag until about 10 years ago, when they figured out how to roll brass as big as a coke bottle and neck the top down to .30 calibre (Lazzeroni, .30-378, Rem .300 UM, etc.) But for me, the "old school" Wby 300 has all the juice (and kick) i can stand

My shoulder is starting to hurt just thinking about it :D

Looks like you have enough brass there to develop a serious flinch.
