OT: Of wax and spelling

Post by J Miller »

We just had a block of soft wax appear in our yard. It weighs about 4 pounds, has a hole through the center of it and smells of pine scent. Kind of like Pine-Sol or maybe Citronella. Is there any use for soft wax like this in bullet lube or anything else, or should I toss it?

Next question is for any body that can spell: How do you spell correctly: Rigamortis? I don't know how, and neither does my spell checker?

Rigormortis.

A toilet cake appeared in your front yard? I'd call the FFA and sue some airline for damages.

Hobie beat me to it. Rigormortis.

Is the block of wax thick enough to catch .22s or shorts?

That'd be kinda fun.

Rigamortis is just fine Joe. My bad Joe -- Rigormortis

As for the pine-scented wax -- Ya know your signature line about sneaking up on him before busting the cap? Well, if yer bullet lube smells like pine trees, ya won't be sneaking up on anyone.

I really don't know about your question about using the wax for bullet lube BUT it was nice chatting -- errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr typing with ya.

How about using it for making wax bullets. You can use them for shooting inside with just a magnum primer.

Hobie, thanks for the spelling ... Rigormortis .... just added it to my spell checker dictionary.

No, it was not a toilet ring, the cake was much thicker, say 4" tall x 6 or so inches across.
The hole in the middle was maybe a half inch. Just big enough for one of those braided wicks to stick through in a yard candle thing.

Not big enough to catch bullets.

Wax bullets are a thought, but this house is to small really.

Yep. I don't think I'd adopt much that just showed up in my yard... I mean, it might smell nice and all but... melt it down and make candles? melt and pour into a cookie sheet and make wax bullets (scare the toilet cakes out of your cats I'd imagine)? one gynormous (that's really big) candle? One thing for certain, I'd wear gloves...

Hobie

Rigor mortis - I think I got it, but - as far as I know - I ain't dead yet! Hopefully it's just advancing decrepitude.

Nope, we don't even have full sized airport here. About the biggest thing that normally takes off is a 737 and they rarely pass over head.

I'm pretty sure this is not from an aircraft.

Isn't Rigor-mortis two words? Or some kinda compound construct?

:?:

I bet that would sure raise the stress level of an airline employee with a phone call...

Excuse me but could you tell me if you've lost something off of one of your airplanes?
