Good series and thanks for posting.
Actually, the two-tone contrast looks pretty good to my eyes.

Re: New mini-series: Stretching a butt stock part 3
That chunk of Fir is left over from my old boat shop. Good boat building Fir would be air dried and have from sixty to eighty annual growth rings per inch. I saved some to use mostly on model ship repair. It can't be beat for spars. It seems to play well with gunstock issues too, especially as it is so stable. I see alot of damaged stocks, whether through time or Bubba-izing. Some types of damage I leave as signs of old character, and some stocks need to be restored in the functionality department. This sort of extension works pretty good for people with long arms and allows a temporary modification to a specific stock, say for NRA Cowboy Silhouette. I'm hopeful that the series made some sense. Thanks for the kind words. Watch yer top knots. Wind

kimwcook - Thanks. I was a Range Officer for the SASS Northwest Regional, and Co-Range Officer for the long range side match last year held in Benton City. Passed through the thriving metropolis of Soap Lake. Will prolly do it all again this year. Maybe we should meet for a cup of coffee?? If you get up Tonasket way, I'll buy. Wind
