Learnen' my bride about guns...

Post by cutter »

RKrodle's post about the family shoot , got me to thinkin'.

When I first met my wife, I was 22 and her 18th birthday was in three weeks. She worked in a small music store that I frequented. We didn't speak much, as I was interested in the other babe there.

Well anyway, to make a long story short. The other babe turned out to be a ... umm... I don't know how to say this politely? Starts with an 'H'. She had poor moral judgment I guess.

One evening, a drugged out loon came into her store waving a chrome Jennings around. He was out of his head and probably didn't even know where he was. He was in the store for maybe 30 seconds, then looked at me and ran. Odds of odds, a cop busted his a** as soon as he got out of the door!

My future bride , after she calmed down asked why he ran.

I pointed to the officer, and said," Because I had that leved at his head "
He was holding my polished stainless Springfeild 1911.

I met her parents a week or so later. And with her mothers help, she bought her very own Bersa Thunder about three months later.

...And eight years later, here we are!

Rkrodle, thanks for the post, and for being so kind toward the girl.

Yeah, love stories get me all misty...

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.
