A Place with class OT

Post by Rusty »

I'll be heading up to WV in a few weeks and will be doing some sight seeing in the Shenandoah Valley. We have a few days reserved in Steel's Tavern, I'm wondering if Hobie knows where that is?

Thinking of places I've visited in the past I remember this place in Roanoke,Va from my childhood. Some places have class and some have so much of it that it just oozes out all over. This place oozes. http://www.texastavern-inc.com/

I'm not sure if we'll make it all the way up there but the wife wants to travel some on the Crooked Road as well.

If you're going up the Shenandoah, stop in Bedford and look at the WWII monument there. The town suffered the worst loss as a percentage of its population of any US unit in WWII.

Thanks 40X. I saw that the monument was there but I wondered just why they chose that place to put it.

I live in the northern end of the valley, about 15 miles N of Winchester. If you are going to come that far let me know. I can steer you to some places.
