OT- My Son's Wife & My D-I-L

Post by Sixgun »

Howdy guys,
Its been tough at the homestead. One of the very few times in our lives when the guns have been put to the side. (but not out of reach  )

I thanks you boys for the prayers. As my son's post said, his wife is very ill and nobody has a reason why.

Its one of the worst tradegies my family has ever experienced. John's wife is 37, top physical shape and has never abused herself in any way like well, you know, like me and others in their earlier years. She is an avid health nut and climbs 14,000 feet mountains like I climb the stairs to my gunroom.

Her family members all live into their eighties and nineties. Her grandfather passed a few years ago at 100. Just can't figure it out.

The cancer is bad. Stage 4 colon and liver. She was operated on Friday and they removed part of her colon, but.........the doc's said her cancer was contained so your prayers are working. Aside from the tumors on her liver, the rest of it looks healthy. :D

We literally have thousands of Christians on a vast prayer network throughout the country. She is on many church's prayer lists from Pa. to Colorado and beyond.

Cynthia and John have two bright and lovable daughters, Sierra and Saige. Please pray for them also.

The doctors at the Denver hospital all know Cynthia well as she is an advanced RN. The hospital and the Docs are giving her the greatest of care. My hat is off to those hard working individuals.

In my 55 years, I personally have never seen anything so unfair. Cynthia is a "do-all" mom-------full time job, wife, and the worlds greatest mother. I love her like my own daughter.

Cynthia is a tough girl and between her toughness and your's and many other's prayers, I truly feel optimistic she is gonna beat this.

Keep up the good work guys and from our family to yours, thank you.

We will most certainly keep her in our thoughts and prayers. Cancer, though a brutal disease, can be beaten soundly and my "argument" with it last year proves that. No matter what the "stage", she has the will and determination to fight it's advance. Maintaining a positive outlook and the support of everyone's prayers will do wonders for her.

There was a thread here on the forum sometime last year that asked, "Is there truly Evil in this world?". The answer to that is yes and it's name is CANCER. It attacks people from all walks of life and takes the innocent.

It's easy to say but courage, tenacity, and hope should back the fight against this evil curse.

Pass my regards to Cynthia, John, Sierra and Saige and tell them to stay the course no matter where it leads them.

Best to you Sixgun and to your family.

Guys,
Many extreme thanks for you boys for the thoughts and prayers.

As I sit here on a dark, dismal, and rainy day here in Pa., I can only wonder of the pain, both physical and mental, that girl is going through.

Like Modec Ed says, "Cancer is evil".

Kinda puts life into perspective. Glamourizing over Winchesters and other stupid material items just don't mean nothin'.

Most all of us bring children into the world---for what? To put 'em through all this evil?

Thanks guys,

No.

For us to experience the sound of "Daddy!!!"
And to pass on the true meanings of morality, integrity and love.

Here's a chance for you Jack. You get to teach them that nothing ever can turn a just and upright person into a bitter, cynical wretch. Not in your family. Not you. Not them. Ever.

It's a mean tough thing you're going through. I'd wish it on no one. I wish you all well. I pray for it.

Please keep us posted. You and your family matter to us.
Kind regards,

Even though I deal with such things on the job, I've still not been able to get her situation off my mind since I heard of it last week. I hope the prayers are working; I've seen them do miracles before (and as a doc, sometimes patients are silly enough to give me the credit... ).

I know a hundred elderly patients right in my practice who would trade places with a woman like Cynthia in a minute; it just isn't fair when someone so young gets that kind of hit.

I have seen it before and will likely see it again. At such times the "plan" is indecipherable. I can only think that God created a universe with rules we try to explain/understand through science and allows us to live here in these mortal bodies subject to those rules. The bodies are subject to failure.

My heartfelt prayers for Cynthia and your family will continue.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Thanks Guys,
Someone here said I will pray that you have strength to get through this, I now know what he ment. I always go

through life with a smile and a joke, and never imagined life could be so hard and painful so fast. 8 days into this

and I'm beat. Tring to help my wife's spirit up at the Hosp. to my Girls cring on the phone "when's mommy coming

home, when's mommy coming home. How to get back to work, wondering my furture all on 1-2 hrs of sleep a day.

plz keep those prayers coming. My wife is feelin better this evening, I hope tommarrow will bring some ray of

sunshine.

My wife got a text message on her phone after we were praying and it says...........

Hey Cynthia! the Lord and I have been chatting quite a bit about you Cling to him, be couragous! he hasn't given you a spirit of fear but of power. He is your refudge. Take shelter in his lap of grace and find comfort in his loving kindiness. I love you my friend, and I am praying without ceasing for your healing.

The Text came in at a perfect time , with no return number. The text was also in 3 different texts all at the same

time stamp. BEFORE my wife read them she said after praying " I am sitting in the Lords Lap and he is protecting

me."

Thank You LORD!! You gave me energy and my wife hope!!

Sixgun & Sixgun Jr.,
Thank you for the update. Glad to hear that her cancer is contained and that she was feeling a bit better.
I will continue to remember her and your families in my prayers.

Almost 30 years ago my wife had colon cancer but thankfully it was caught in the early stages. Part of her large intestine was removed and I remember that she was intensive care for several days after the operation. By the grace of God, she is alive and well today.

I and my wife are praying for Cynthia, you, your girls and Cynthia's immediate and extended families. Howdy Guys,
Your prayers and Cynthia's smarts are working. The other day, the docs pulled out the &&a%@9. (Its that thing-a-ma-jig they stick in your spine so you don't feel no pain)

Anyway, since they pulled it out (three days ago), she has really been sick with nausea and fevers and we really were getting worried. So, late last night, Cynthia (she's an RN) tells the docs she thinks the hole in her spine where they pulled out the thing-a-ma-jig is leaking spinal fluid. The docs checked and yep, it was leaking. They patched that up and today, she felt like a NIB 1886 Winchester. (or a million dollars, whichever you prefer :D )

As she is still too weak for the docs to work on her liver, they are sending her home tomorrow, for awhile :D Her mother is flying in from Michigan to care for her.

Its working guys--the Good Lord is listening :D We thank you boys ever so much---------------------------Jack aka Sixgun

Sending prayers and positive thoughts. This can be beat, my sister had to have 83% of her liver taken out, it's the only organ that can regrow/regenerate itself, who knew? They had given her 3 weeks to live, period, she made it another 7 years and died of something else.
