I ordered one of these when they first came out for a spare blade to just attach to my pack, fantastic blade for the money. Cold Steel's factory seconds are usually something to do with the finish or a nick in the spine of the blade, nothing that effects function. I ordered six as stocking stuffers.

I bought a couple of Master Hunter seconds from Cold Steel about 15 years ago. They looked perfect in every way to me except for the big "2" that was stamped into the back of the handle.

I have heard that some of the Bushman blades had a heat treat problem shortly after they came out but that was straightened out.

Those are worth every penny! I've got a bushman and a mini-bushman, they are great, cheap, rugged blades that you don't have to worry about. Buy them and stash them whereever they may come in handy, for a spare blade, survival knife, or even emergency hog spear (?).

Me too! I've looked at these before, and they seem like nice blades.

I got into the Cold Steel groove via "seconds." NOTHING wrong with the 2nds at all, other than minor cosmetics. LOVE my Cold Steel knives. ( I only have 15 or so...)

I'm a big Cold Steel fan going back to my Made In USA Trailmaster. I don't like the made in japan label but the quality is there.

They must be out. I clicked the link and found no deal, even on the "seconds" page.

I usually see the Bushman knives for under $20 at the gun shows. I wish I had bought several of the mini-bushman before it was discontinued. The only other Cold Steel knife I own is an American made SRK in their Carbon V steel. From what I've read the U.S. made Carbon V blades were made by Camillus before they closed their New York plant. :(

I've had a Bushman for 14 years. It gets the nod when its time to do some butchering. I use a skinning knife to field dress and quarter --- but the Bushman does the rest. I have to touch up the edge every 2 deer roughly. I have a lot of cool knives, but i keep coming back to this $20 one when its time to do meaningful work --- guess i like keeping things simple

Thanks, I carried cold steel to Iraq and Africa a few times and trust them a lot. Went to the link and found some toys to add to others stockings.
