OT: Starting the year off right ... almost

Post by J Miller »

Well, I have no place to shoot that's open today so I couldn't go shooting.

~But~

I did load the first box of ammo. .45 Colts of course.

In my town the only places open were the police department and the sportsmens club, so I went shooting.
T he new .22 Ruger Single-Six Hunter that the wife got me for Christmas went along for another test drive.

I've been trying all different kinds of ammo, looking for what works best, and hoping that it will be something affordable and available.

It seems like Federal Champions are currently the best of what I've tried.

This was from a rest at 25 yards.

I should have done some shooting today just to get a good start on this New Year. I am running WAY behind on shooting. If some of you guys lived fairly close expect that'd not be the case. :D

I made a box of my favorite .44 Magnums today. 10 Gr of Unique and 240 gr LSWC.
Also tried to clean up my reloading room. I can actually see the whole floor now!

So if you got a place to shoot .... invite me over. The last time I was shooting this year was June in norther IN. We had a Leverguns get together.

It was nice here today. I got to unlimber a Walther P22... trying to break on in... it still hiccups now and then.

Got to saddle a horse and ride a bit today also. I ride on New Years Eve and New Years Day ... that's about my only tradition. I started making a point to end the year and start the New Year on horseback over the 99/2000 Holiday.

Happy New Year
