Just wondering if anybody tried them, yet in their .45-70s.

They might still be called Barnes bullets but they're made by Remington now.

86er has some clients from Maine that hunted Africa with him last year. One of them used the Barnes Buster bullets in 45-70 and reported the results. I don't know how to find old post. Hello Joe, feel free to chime in any time.

I guess I would just use FMJ Military bullets or even armour
piercing in 8mm and save a lot of money.

Was there ever a larger military caliber for battle rifles?

How bout 9mm something ?
