OT - About The Worst Movie I Ever Looked At

Post by Blaine »

Missed the first night of the new Lonesome Dove....Constipated Moon?....and watched the second night for maybe an hour...turned it off.....words cannot describe how disappointed I was. The guys that made the first one a long time ago must be really, really upset :x What a pee-poor waste of an hour

UGGHH!! I'm with you, Blaine. We wasted our time watching silly American Idol. Way too funny with all those losers and weirdos.

I gotta say that I'm not too impressed with it either.

What cracks me up is that every time the Rangers want to return to Houston they have to ask somebody to guide them back to Houston. Last night it was the "Kickapoo" Walker. And then later on Gus and Call had to leave Deets behind so he could guide the Rangers back to Houston again. What a hoot!! (Or was it Austin -- can't remember because it sucks so bad)

The acting is terrible. The guy playing the part of Gus is going to break his arm if he keeps throwing it out every time he tries to make a point in order to imitate Robert Duvall's portrayal of Gus in the original Lonsome Dove.

Sub-par all the way around.

You guys are making me feel better. Watched the first and waded through it, after all it is a western. Had some business last night and tried to record the srcond episode, but something went wrong and it didn't get the show recorded. Feel better now!

...well, I haven't bothered to watch it. I need to watch the original, from beginning to end, because I need a refresher on the story. I still think the best part of the original is Kenny Rogers as Captain Call. I am sooo surprised that he didn't sing "The Gambler".

I still say it was better than part II "The streets of Laredo" most anything looks good after that.

I don't think Kenny Rogers is allowed in Texas anymore, after he got all involved trying to help keep that stone cold killer from being executed a few years back.

What really bothered me was seeing McCall carrying a TC renegade.

Glad it wasn't just me. Watched about an hour of the first one and went
to work on the computer. Didn't even bother with second episode.

If the men from that time were as plain dumb as portrayed in the movie, well I doubt any of us would be here.

After Larry McMurtry wrote the screen play for Broke Back Mountain, I lost all interest in his work.
