rossim92 ammo sensitivity
Hi! I just joined leverguns and this is my first post, I recently bought a rossim92 in the 38/357combo. I had trouble extracting about every other round i shot. I was using remingtons umc fmc and hanson semi jacketed lead nosed bullets. I took the gun to a gunsmith who shot fifteen rds of the 38 and fifteen rds of the 357. He didn't have any problems with extraction. He was using american eagles for his ammo. we then used the ammo I was using and it failed to extract every other one, fired or unfired. Found out the gun is ammo sensitive. I am now currently using american eagles in the red box and pmc's with no problems. I just want to know if any other levergunners have this problem. I also would like to know what brands of ammo work for you so my trial and error on ammo will not be so costly. thanks

Re: rossim92 ammo sensitivity
How was it failing? Extractor hook not getting in front of the rim to pull it out of the chamber?

Definitely check how well the extractor is grabbing the round, including doing a slow 'chambering' to see if and how the claw slips over the rim. I've had to do some hand-filing on more than one extractor over the years.
