OT - Ithaca Model 37 Magnum question

Have owned a number of Ithacas, all earlier guns with 2-3/4" chambers. Have a chance to buy a 3" chambered gun at a really good price. Questions is: Will the 3" gun cycle 2-3/4" shells?

Using 2 3/4 inch shells in a 3 inch chamber is not a problem.
