OT - Browning .22 ATD strange serial#

Found a Browning .22 auto in a pawn shop for $239. Seems like a good deal.I've looked on 2 sites inc. Browning's and cannot figure out the date of manufacture.
Serial # is 37990T47 .
Help!!!!

There are some Chinese knockoffs out there......If that # isn't on the Browning site, I'd be careful, Sir. If, somehow, it's a real Browning, jump quick, that's a giveaway price.

Yeah, what Blaine said.

Belgian Brownings all had a letter+number prefix, i.e., T8 would be a .22 Auto made in 1969. Japanese production used a two letter code in the middle of the SN that has no rhyme or reason.

The Chinese knockoffs are slick looking with the high gloss "Browning" finish so look close.

could be a chinese copy receiver with a Browning barrel.
