OT: Need help with photobucket

Post by J Miller »

OK, first let me tell you that I do know how to use photobucket and get the URLs and IMG codes for posting.

So, that said, when I get logged in, and have all my hundreds of pics there I pick one and the little box with all the image codes opens, I put my cursor on the one I want ..... and nothing. It won't copy the link. I am stymied as I can post anything.

This started after we had to take our box to the fix it guy. Anybody know what was changed to cause this problem?

Mine did that once, it wouldn`t copy by left clicking, try right clicking on the code then copy.

I tried clicking on both right and left and nothing happens. My cursor acts as if there's nothing there to click on.

If i`m viewing all my pictures at once it will do what you described, i[*] is slow to change from a curser arrow to the hand so ya can copy.
Try hoovering over it a little longer, just another 2 cents worth. :)

OK my wife just got one part of it to work.

If you open your album normally and put the cursor on the pic you get the drop down box with the four codes. These will not work when you put the cursor on them like they used to.

If you click share on the blue bar above the codes ( share/edit/delete/move) it opens a box with four tabs at the top. One of the tabs says GET LINK CODE. When you click on the GET LINK CODE it opens up a list of seven codes and near the bottom is the one for the the forums. Copy that and it works:

Here's the front side of a quilt my wife just finished.

At the bottom of the link code tab is two buttons: "CANCEL SAVE". I hadn't seen them when my wife was working on things. This time I noticed that only the 5 codes that appeared in the drop box were checked. Hmmmm, so I clicked the "save" button. It did something and the box went away.
I checked the album pictures again and now instead of a drop down box appearing when you run your cursor over the pic the old style code box appears under each pic and it works. I can select and copy the code I want. Woooo Hooooo ..... I fixed it!!!!!!

Here is the back of the quilt while I'm messing with this:

So, I guess if I would pay attention and click more things I might learn something.

Gday Joe, if its any comfort your not the only one challenged by all this stuff. Had problems at Photobucket myself but slowly worked it all out eventually, although I do still screw up at times, but after much scratching of head and a swig of cold amber fluid, to quote the preacher from the old movie think it was Paint your Wagon - Donald Pleasance ........ Ah see it now.

Cheers mate

Mom and your wife would have had a lot of shared interests! Cats and quilts and sewing. Daughter has Mom's Bernina now. The quilting stuff went one place, knitting another, and weaving mostly went to auction. Nobody wanted the big looms!

Hobie

Hobie,
My wife was reading your last post and said she would have loved to have the looms. Not sure where we would have put them though.

Back to the Photobucket. I went over to my account and had to do the same thing I did to my wifes. Now I can post pics again.
