PRICE CHECK - Stevens 311 / 410-GOT IT

Post by pwl44m »

I found a Stevens 311 on a rack. I have wanted one for a long time (don't know why) They r just Cute. This one is really nice, the Bores would shine like a new penny once the dust and cobwebs were pushed out. It really doesn't have any issues other than being dirty. It does look like it was too close to some paint job using white paint. There are tiny white specks on the recvr and stock. I removed some with My thumb nail so I know they would come right off. Price is $300, That is less than they were several years ago when I was in hot pursuit of one.
What say Ya. does this seem high or low. Sounds low to Me so what does Ur area command ?

In my opinion, it is a great buy. You seldom see them anywhere, and last ones at the Tulsa show , I saw, were a whole lot more.

I don't think I've ever seen one in .410... sounds like a good price to me.

Excellent price for a .410. The little ones seem to come pretty dear these days.

I see plenty of them at guns shows, but they are never that cheap-usually asking $400 and up. I'd probably give $300 for a .410 and I don't even need one (there's that superfluous word again) The .410s always have a bigger price than the 12s and 20s.

I think that is a good price particularly for a .410.

I saw a Savage Fox . Not sure if it was a BE or whatever they called them anyway it was nothing more then a semi spiffed up Stevens 311 in 410 sell at a public auction a couple eyars ago for $1000 !!!!!!!

And believe me when I say this , folks there was nothing out of the ordinary about that little 410 other then it was nice and more then likely made in the 70's or possibly the early 80's !

I've been wanting one of those. I would jump on that with both feet, and smile all the way home. They just don't seem to come up for sale around here.

Make sure when you get it that the gun cocks ok. The cocking rods in those tend to wear. Other than that that is a super price.

The 410/311 is highly collectable. Not many were made. And yes, one in excellent condition can sell for $1000.00 or more.

For $300.00, I buy it in a NY minute.

In my opinion, the 311 was a poorly made shotgun, but I've still seen several 410's sell in the $600 range pretty easy. I'd grab one up for $300 in a heart beat!

If I recall correctly, I paid around $350 for a Stoeger .410 COACHGUN for my daughters first gun. $300 for a SxS is a pretty fair price these days. You will have to look hard to find one cheaper.

Well I did find one cheaper. Today was the first chance I have had to go back to town. I was there right after He opened hoping it would still be there, and it was. Well being the cheapskate I am I had to see if He would (what was that computer proper word) oh come down on the price. He said make an offer and He would call the Guy as it was a consignment Gun. Asking price was $300 plus fees of $35 so I said $300 out the door and He said "He will do that" so We wrote it up. Now I have to wait 12 days because My day falls on Sat. and He is closed.
I will post pics when I get it home and cleaned up. I'm Happy

That sounds like a good deal to me. The .410 is a different frame size (smaller) than the 12g 311s isn't it?

That I'm not sure about. It has an awful fast taper on the barrels. In just 11 more short days I will be able to tell U for sure unless somebody knows.

Yep, should be a smaller frame size. And it should be worth at least twice what you paid, if not more. If I found one for that price, I wouldn't leave the store without it
