i have an 1886 45/85 but can't find my pictures. it is one slick action!

Yes, I have one (3 digit serial number) hence my screen name.
G. Scott Jamieson has written a couple of thick, colorful books on the Bullard.
He is (I would say) by far the expert on the Bullard.
Mine (40-75-259) is in perfect working condition and has taken a truck load of game over
the years.
The "books" say my bore should be .413" but is actually .410" so with a custom Hoch mold , and
bullets from Montana Bullet Works and the odd 41 Mag pistol bullet she shoots a lot.
A lot.
Accuracy is on par with a Sharps. I shoot both.

Mr Jamieson and I lettered back and forth quite a bit when he was writing the first and second Bullard book and am pleased to have my Bullard
pictured in both.

bigelow, i believe [ not looking at the book right now ], was bullards partner. the bigelows eventually came to alaska . there is a fellow from anchorage, who lives in florida now [ still in the gun business ] from whom i acquired my rifle. it had been in the family for years. they have some really rare and pristine guns, including ones with case hardened frames etc.

it was neat to talk to him and realize that we sorta had this alaska connection, and this love of fine and rare firearms.....makes me appreciate mine even more.
