1886
I have been seriously wanting to get this .40-82 down to the ranch and put it through it's paces but the bloody weather just will not cooperate. About an inch of water is siting atop the clay, something that rules out any driving or walking around. My 4X4 would make it but I am not willing to muck up the roads and fields. It will just take patience to await some drying out time.

That is a gorgeous '86 and in a nice caliber too!

Re: 1886
that is one dang good lookin rifle.
Re: 1886
It is a Extra Lightweight with nickel steel barrel so the old BP .40-82 can ZING. When the 245 .406 grain Hawk bullets arrive I'm gonna see how fast they can be sent out the muzzle. This one should make a great mulie rifle and is probably very capable of 200+ yd DRN shots. I won't drill the gun so my 65 yr old eyes will just have to get used to the factory sights. Prob'ly have to wear the specs.

I'd like to test that baby out. Good 'ole nickel steel sure gives one a margin of safety.
The offer is still open on the cast gas checks. I can size 'em to .406 or .408. They weigh about 275. I cast 'em hard and will be good for 1800, easily. Plus, the price will be a lot better than those Hawk bullets---------free PM me your address if you are interested---------------------Sixgun
