This is all that matters:
He just got a big rack as a bonus.
It's all good to me, but it looks like Sour Grapes being thrown at him.
It is generally "illegal" to hunt deer within the municipal boundaries of Michigan City Indiana as well, but I had specific permission to do depredation from a treestand in a City "nature preserve" - and killed a nice doe on Christmas Eve a couple of years ago.The hunter had permission by the cemetery caretaker to hunt in the cemetery, and the deer was legally taken within the boundaries of the Town of Ithaca.

Re: Anyone have the itch yet?
I always look forward to hunting, and I used to spend weeks getting ready for deer season, but for the past few years I decided to not even bother.
Preparation is expensive, there's too many nit-picky restrictions and regulations, and the local deer don't yield enough meat for the expense.
Hogs are a better game, in my book.
No closed season.

Madman, I am always looking forward to hunting season. I practice year round with the longbow and spend summer months tuning up bow fishing. I do a lot of shotgun shooting during the summer too. In august or so I step up the BP shooting. This august going to Maine for bear. I'm ready.

When technicalities are the rule you have to go by the rules of the technicalities and so he did. Good for him.

Re: Anyone have the itch yet?
I haven't gone hunting for anything the last say six to seven years. When the bite in the weather starts I get fidgety and look forward to getting into the woods. This year I'm going hunting even if it has to be day trips.
